If you're new to pottery, handbuilding (making functional and decorative forms without a pottery wheel) is a very approachable way to get to know clay as an artistic medium. This 6 week 2.5 hour class covers the basics of all three hand building techniques: pinching, coiling and using slabs. You will have the chance to make both usable objects like bowls, mugs and platters and art pieces like little figures and decorative pieces. We will also go over beginning level glazing techniques using glazes. This course covers beginners, (intermediate and advanced students, work at your own pace).
All tools, materials, 25 lbs clay, glazes and firing are provided for project made in class.
Class run Thursday evening 6-8:30pm
